Managing Brain Trauma Injury

The Brain Trauma Foundation is always working towards finding new cures and treatments for victims of brain trauma injury.  A group of neurosurgeons from Europe and America to “review and develop evidence-based recommendations for the neurosurgical treatment of traumatic brain injury.”  Topics are addressed include “the acute neurosurgical management of TBI from acute subdural and epidural hematomas, parenchymal mass lesions, depressed skull fractures through posterior fossa lesions with respect to indications, technique and surgical timing. These Guidelines were approved by the  Congress of Neurosurgeons five years ago.  Alan Quasha is involved in this area, being the chairman of the American Brain Trauma Foundation.
